A 1930's Very Good WW2 German Officer's Carl Zeiss of Jena, 8 X Magnification Monocular

A most scarce souvenir optical instrument of the Third Reich. It is doubly interesting as its an item of WW" history, plus of course a perfectly functioning and useful instrument.
Used as a German military Wehrmacht hand sized telescope, made by one of the best German optical makers of WW2.

Very nice clear focusing optics, a little dusty inside, with original neck strap, Carl Zeiss of Jena maker marking. originally made for the London market in the 1930's but purchased by a German officer in 1939 just before WW2. A private purchase piece, brought back after the war by a British officer, 'liberated' from a German officer in 1945. The firm of Carl Zeiss was founded in Jena in 1846 and grew to be the most dominant optical and fine mechanical firm in the world at the beginning of the twentieth century through 1945.
